Jeannette has a clinic run by nurses and health care workers.
An annual medical and dental trip allows access to doctors who assess, treat and prescribe medications for common conditions. Medicine is dispensed at the clinic’s pharmacy. An American dentist works alongside a Haitian dentist, and together they extract diseased teeth. People are given new toothbrushes and toothpaste. In the March of 2015 first and second graders were treated with a fluoride varnish to help reduce tooth decay.
The clinic provides triage for patients who require more advanced medical care. These patients may be transferred to St. Croix Hospital in nearby Leogane.
